The world of business is tough. This statement in itself is an understatement as anyone who’s worked in business will know.
But, what if you’ve started a business and it’s doing well? The obvious step is to grow the business. But, how do you do this quickly to ensure the business continues to grow?
Below, we’ve outlined three ways that you can do this.
Raising money
If you’re already running the business, the quickest way to grow it is through getting more money. However, this is much easier than it sounds.
Aside from going on Dragon’s Den, raising money can be difficult. An investor would be the easiest way to do this, and while finding one may be difficult, you could use government schemes such as the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS). This is a way in which you can raise money and grow a business, by offering tax reliefs to individual investors who own shares in the company. You can find out more about it here.
This is a great way to attract an investor, but, if you’re finding it difficult, online fundraising is another great way through websites such as GoFundMe or Kickstarter.
Visibility
Now, while you try to get investment and raise more money to grow your business, you have to keep the business running. While you do this, a simple way to grow the business is to make sure you’re as visible as possible. Advertising and marketing methods are the quickest way to do this. Depending on the nature of your business, everything will be slightly different, but, if cash is tight, go down the current digital road rather than the old school advertising method of TV and print. Digital, such as social media advertising and blogging is much cheaper, and when you pay for it, it’s much easier to target people, helping to grow an online presence and customer base.
Customer service
As you grow this online presence, ensuring your customer experience is top-notch is key. After all, if the customer is happy, your business will be happy. Therefore, make sure that things are delivered promptly and keep customers informed on when things will be delivered and when. Also, being able to reach someone if there’s an issue is crucial, as it shows the business thinks about its customers. If you ensure that those using the business currently are happy, it’ll help to increase awareness of the brand and prevent negative online feedback, which can have terrible ramifications for a company.
Staff
Most importantly, keep your staff happy. If staff feel encouraged and needed, they’ll help you to help the business, and with this comes growth and expansion. Remember, without them, there’d be no business.
And there you have it, four easy ways to help your business to continue going from strength to strength.
