Choose The Right Business Location
At the foundational level, you need to have your business residing in a location that your target customer will want to go or will already be going for other purposes. This way, when they’re in this location for other reasons, they have an excuse to come into your establishment as well.
Ideally, you should try to locate your business in an area that’s easy to get to and has complementary businesses around it. If it’s too hard or complicated to find you, or to find parking at your location, people might look for excuses not to come in. But if you are in a convenient location with ample parking available to customers, you should be able to get the traffic that you want coming into your store.
Make The Environment More Appealing
Once people get to your store location, you want everything that they see and experience to be appealing for them. This will likely require you to come into the space with fresh eyes and imagine yourself as a customer. If there are things that might give you pause, these are areas that you should address.
For some businesses, this might include cleaning the outside of the building and the sidewalk area that’s in front of your location. For others, you might want to include more seating around your store so that people have a place to sit and think about their purchasing decisions. And if you have a store that’s particularly cluttered, you might want to find a way to streamline and create more space between your goods so people don’t feel anxious and overwhelmed.
Offer In-Store Discounts
To get more people to want to come into your physical location, especially if you have customers that you’d like to encourage to come back and make more purchases with you, you may want to consider offering some kind of in-store discounts for visitors.
By giving people a discount when they make a purchase in the store rather than online or through other channels, you may be able to get more people to come in and spend more money while they’re there.
