As 2019 comes to an end, a new year arises, and with it, a year full of exciting opportunities and growth. If you’re a real estate professional, then there’s a big one coming up right at the top of the year.
From January 13th through the 15th 2020, one of the largest convergence of experts and professionals in the commercial real estate finance industry is coming to Florida. The CRE Finance Council Conference, in partnership with Dechert LLP, will be hosting the event at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel in Miami, Florida. Whether it is your first time attending or you attended past years’ conferences, it will be useful to have a quick guide to help you plan your trip to this event this coming 2020.
Lodging
As with any trip, business or leisure, the first thing everyone does is look for a place to stay. Since the conference will be held at the center of Miami’s famous South Beach, you might find yourself competing for a room against other professionals attending the event or tourists who are also looking for hotels in South Beach Miami. The Loews Hotel, where the event takes place currently has rooms available, but if the block sells out, there are other good options.
The Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami is one of the conference’s recommended hotels, and it’s just across the way. The accommodation offers ample opportunity for some downtime to soak up all the information you learned from the event. The Hyatt features a spa to unwind, a pool, free internet access, and an onsite restaurant in case you are utterly exhausted and can’t make your way to an eatery at the end of the day.
Other recommended hotels include the Gale Hotel and the Royal Palm Hotel, both of which are great options in South Beach.
Transportation
So you’ve booked your room, how are you going to get to the event? Whether you are arriving at Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International (FLL) or Miami International Airport (MIA), the conference is no more than an hour’s drive from FLL or a 30-minute drive from MIA.
With that said, a rental car would be the most convenient and flexible way to get around the area. If you prefer to take mass transit and are arriving at FLL, then prepare for a 2-hour commute via Miami-Dade Transit. It’ll only take two transfers to get to the event. If you are coming from MIA, you can also take Miami-Dade Transit, and since it is closer, it’ll only be about a 45-minute commute.
Food
There are plenty of food options around the event with a variety of local and international cuisines to boot. Mediterranean, Japanese, French, Italian, and Mexican are only a few of the types of cuisine easily found in the area.
Perhaps you are craving gourmet burgers, a watering hole where you can just relax after the conference, or maybe even fine dining? The beauty of Miami’s thriving food scene is that you’ll find all of those types of food establishments in the area as well, all within walking distance or a short 5-minute drive away.
Other Attractions
You’re in South Beach, and even though it’s January, the weather is probably nicer here than where you came from, so maybe you should decide to come early or stay after the event to explore what the area has to offer. Other attractions outside the famous beach include Flamingo Park, Wynwood Walls (an outdoor museum of street art), and the Versace Mansion. You can also take a city tour in a variety of ways like in an antique car or on an interesting looking 15-passenger bike.
So, grab this guide and start planning your trip to the CRE Finance Council Conference on January 13th to the 15th, 2020, today.
