Here’s how you find inspiration for your logo and how to search logo designs.
1. YouTube
One of the best places to start looking for designs is to check out some of the funky logos that You-Tubers use for their channels. These are often creative and intriguing and they are also largely designed by amateurs showing you just what is possible even if you don’t hire an expert to help you. Soon their logos might get even better as YouTube is introducing liason experts to help its creatives.
YouTube is also great because it contains clips and logos from television shows. During the titles and credits to many television shows you will see the logos of various production companies to give you logo inspiration.
Some YouTubers have even collated just the titles and opening credits to different television shows so you can see a lot of content at once.
2. Print Magazines
Print magazines are another great source of logos. Pick magazines associated with your business. Look at the advertising pages to see what kind of logos the different companies have and consider cutting them out and creating a scrapbook. You can see seek out the brand managers of these brands to see if you can hire them for your company, as an expert.
Also, be sure to look at the magazine publisher’s logo. You will usually find this on the front cover above the barcode and inside at the back or front on the contributions and copyright page.
3. Go Shopping
Another great way of finding logos is to go shopping. If your business involves a consumer product that will shortly adorn the shelves of a major supermarket or a smaller retailer take your smartphone with you and snap some pictures of relevant brands.
Look at the packaging of different brands and make a note of the ones that catch your eye as well as the ones that didn’t and try to ask yourself why they didn’t resonate with you.
