Without knowing how to advertise a business, it doesn’t matter if you’ve got the greatest business idea since sliced bread. You may have the coolest new invention, the best new service, or the most well-designed product ever.
But if your customers never hear about it, then what’s the point?
Clearly, you should see the need for advertising in order to get the word out. But how exactly does one advertise? Chances are, if you’re a budding entrepreneur with a cool new product or service, you may not be extremely experienced in the marketing or advertising world.
The traditional advertising strategies you know of — taking out a newspaper ad or a television commercial, are outside your budget for now. So what can you do?
One word: leaflets.
Producing and distributing short leaflets that act as brochures for your company’s product or service is the way to go if your advertising budget doesn’t have the brawn for a television spot quite yet.
In this article, we’ll explore three different ways that you can use leaflets to advertise a business.
1. Distribute Them on the Street
The first way to use your leaflets is simply to distribute them on the street. Once you have them printed, hire a small squad of people to hit up the areas where you think your customers will be to distribute those leaflets to all.
Although this strategy won’t have a high conversion rate, it will ensure that your brand is really put out there. And as the proverb goes, there is no such thing as bad publicity.
2. Leave Them in Offices
Second, consider using a leaflet delivery service to leave the leaflets in offices around your area. The most important things to consider here are twofold.
One, you want to ensure that you have permission from the office or company in question to leave your leaflet in their waiting area. Many locations won’t like you doing so, and may take legal action if you go ahead without asking permission first, so be safe and ask if it’s alright ahead of time.
Second, you want to make sure that you only leave those leaflets in the offices that offer services or products complementary to your product or service. That way, you get access to the right, interested target market that will actually convert into customers.
3. Draw the Customers in Your Location to Them
Last but not least, use your leaflets in your own business location. Leave them out in obvious spots and give them to would-be customers who come up to the counter. Chances are, your leaflet (if written well) will be able to do better justice to your product or service than your sales team could.
Advertise a Business with Leaflets the Right Way
Now that you know how to advertise a business with leaflets the right way, all that remains is for you to print your own and start distributing them!
