If you own a small business, you know how important digital marketing is in this age of business. If not, you should know that 88 percent of consumers research products and/or services online before they invest. If your digital marketing and conversion strategy isn’t on-point, you’re losing out on countless potential clients.
But how can you increase your conversion rate? Consumers are smothered by ads and content the second they pull up a web browser. What can you do to stand out and make the sales your business needs?
Keep reading for our top five tips.
1. Stay Consistent
One of the biggest mistakes small business owners make is rushing the process. Although we understand that cost-efficiency is key, you need to make sure you’re giving a conversion strategy time to do its thing.
If you haven’t seen anything after a couple of weeks, that’s normal. We recommend allowing a grace period of at least six weeks or longer to determine the legitimacy of a strategy. Be patient and accept that some marketing plans are going to have little or no ROI, but you must learn.
2. Experiment and Analyze
To find digital marketing that actually converts, you need to use trial and error. Your company, brand, products, and services are unique, as are your customers. While you can use this information to come up with a marketing and conversion strategy, most of what you’ll learn will be through experimentation.
You need two different ads running simultaneously on the same platform. Then, after three to six weeks, analyze how each ad performed. Use this information to hone your ads to perfection.
Try serious tones, funny tones, videos, pictures, how-tos, and more. In the digital arena, the options are nearly endless.
3. Know Your Audience
We mentioned early that each business’s clients are unique. A target audience or specific demographic of people is who you want to direct your conversion strategy at. What do the majority of your clients have in common?
This could be age, race, gender, income, location, hobbies, or any combination of factors. Determining your target audience can be done through analytics on social media accounts which will break down the details of your followers as well as the people who interact with your ads.
4. Engage With Your Audience
While automated services are great for efficiency in your company, they’re also being used by every other company out there. Sometimes, consumers want a little connection with real human beings.
On your website and social media profiles especially, make sure you’re engaging with consumers. Respond to their comments and questions. Thank them for sharing your posts.
5. Be an Authority in Your Field
Finally, people like to know they’re doing business with owners who know their stuff. Adding a blog to your website is a great way to present yourself as an authority in your field as well as improve your conversion strategy.
Relevant blog articles that answer questions, provide valuable information, and demonstrate how to do things will be widely appreciated by online consumers.
